Metacognition Metacognitive Activities R
METACOGNITION-SELF-REGULATDE-LEARNING-JO

Description:

This straightforward activity should be run at the end of a lesson: it's a quick activity that encourages students to reflect on metacognitive factors that have helped them to learn or presented obstacles to learning. Students are presented with a question and move around the room to show their response, providing an opportunity for further metacognitive questioning from the teacher.

How To Use:

  1. Simply run the PowerPoint Show at the end of your lesson (when there are 5-10 minutes remaining)

  2. Each slide presents your class with four options: they must move to different corners of the room to indicate their answer!

  3.  Once students have moved: it is an ideal opportunity to ask questions that lead them towards insight surrounding their own learning and how they can increase their learning-power in future lessons.
